OWASP Northern VA

Cyber Security Event Title: OWASP Northern VA Local Chapter Address: Arlington, Virginia Description: The original founding of this group was in 2004 as the DC Chapter. It has now grown to be its own, with meetings held every first Thursday of the month. The OWASP Northern VA Local Chapter meetings are FREE and OPEN to anyone interested in learning more about application security. They encourage individuals to provide knowledge transfer via hands-on training and presentations of specific OWASP projects and research topics and sharing SDLC knowledge. OWASP Northern Virginia has almost 1000 members with a wide range of experience and backgrounds.

ISSA – NoVA

The Information Systems Security Association Northern Virginia Chapter (ISSA-NOVA), chartered in August 2002, represents one of the fastest-growing technology corridors in the nation. As of March 2006, we have more than 500 active members in the Chapter. InfraGard is a partnership between the FBI and the private sector. It is an association of persons who represent businesses, academic institutions, Virginia and local law enforcement agencies, and other participants dedicated to sharing information and intelligence to prevent hostile acts against the U.S.

Northern Virginia AITP

Cyber Security Event Title: Northern Virginia AITP Address: Arlington, Virginia Description: AITP offers opportunities for Information Technology (IT) leadership and education through partnerships with industry, government and academia. AITP provides quality IT related education, information on relevant IT issues and forums for networking with experienced peers and other IT professionals. As the industry has evolved, so has the association. There’s a lot of interesting video up in their site so do check it out. Participation is mandatory for continued membership in the group. This means that to retain a subscription to the mailing list, you must contribute to the group in some form. The way to contribute is by attending the meetings and speaking about what you’re working on, what your up to, etc with a prevision for special cases where participation in discussions on the mailing list are accepted on a case, by case basis.
