Like most ISACA chapters, there’s an open invitation for membership and a wealth of info on their website, where an official newsletter can be subscribed to. The Los Angeles Chapter is the original and founding chapter of ISACA® (formerly EDPAA). Today, Los Angeles is one of the largest chapters with over 1000 members, and it continues to support and contribute to the international organization with members’ representation on several international committees, financial support and periodic hosting of the International Conference, most recently in July 2009. In May 2008, the LA Chapter hosted the CobiT User Convention.

InfraGard Los Angeles

Cyber Security Event Title: InfraGard Los Angeles Chapter Address: Los Angeles, California Description: Probably one of the largest, broadest, and most eclectic branch of InfraGard in the United Californias. Infragard L.A. covers all seven counties and have lots of meetings. InfraGard Los Angeles is California Corporation with status as a 501(c)3. Its members are part of a national network of FBI- vetted volunteers who are critical infrastructure subject matter experts in one or more sectors. It provides a trusted forum for the real-time exchange of information, training and expertise related to the protection of critical infrastructure and key resources (CI/KR) from both physical and cyber threats. The Los Angeles alliance is over 2100 members strong. It is governed by a Board of Directors and is run by the Chapter Operational Management and Sector Coordinators.

AITP Los Angeles

Cyber Security Event Title: AITP Los Angeles Address: Los Angeles, California Description: Association of Information Technology Professionals Los Angeles Chapter (AITP-LA) holds dinner meetings in West LA with a focus on keeping members abreast of trends and best practices in managing technology, as well as on providing strong networking opportunities. They seems to be working on some things right now, and will pick up with regular meetings when time permits. They can be found just inside the main entrance (Alameda Street side) near Traxx Bar.

Machine Project

Cyber Security Event Title: Machine Project Address: Los Angeles, California Description: Projects involve multiple artists and events, under a broad idea or theme that Machine wants to explore, such as the history of LA architecture, strategies for public engagement with the Hammer Museum, or the origin of pancakes. Machine Project is a storefront space in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles that hosts events about all kinds of things they find interesting – scientific talks, poetry readings, musical performances, competitions, group naps, cheese tastings and so forth. They usually do about two events a week, open to the general public and free of charge.
