Passive Bluetooth Monitoring in Scapy

Global Events / Cybersecurity Books

Ryan Holeman lives and works in Austin Texas where he works as a senior server software developer for Ziften Technologies. Ryan is a veteran speaker at BlackHat, Defcon and other security oriented conferences. Scapy is a powerful interactive intrustion detection packet manipulation program. The security tool is able to forge, decode , capture, match and reply packets from hundreds of different protocols.

The project is a compliment to Michael Ossman’s work (along with others) by providing Python extensions and Scapy modules which interact with an Ubertooth dongle. Scapy also provides support for other passive bluetooth techniques that are not available in the current Ubertooth core software such as NAP identification, vendor lookup or extended logging and more.
