Why did we select these Cyber Conferences?
This is not a list of ‘upcoming events’, rather, this is a list of regular (typically annual) InfoSec events that take place within New York City. We select these Conferences on two criteria: firstly, is the conference reputable?; does it attract professional Cyber Professionals? And, secondly, does the conference take place on a regular basis? If the answer to these two questions is ‘yes’ then it is very likely that we will add the event to this page.
Can I add my Cyber Security Conference that is taking place in NYC to this page?
Of course! Please do! All you need to do is submit a form by visiting our main conference directory listing page here. We will happily add your event to all our resources including our weekly email that goes out to thousands of cyber security professionals.
International Conference on Cybersecurity | Where: New York City, New York, USA
Fordham University is an excellent university in New York, and they have a particularly excellent Masters in Cybersecurity which you can read about here, but the other interesting thing about Fordham is that they organize an excellent cyber security conference each year. Now in its’ sixth year (2016 will be it’s 7th) the Fordham New York cyber conference, titled: “International Conference on Cybersecurity” represents an excellent opportunity for those living and working in cyber on the East Coast who’d like to network with some very talented minds.
The event, abbreviated to ICCS, spans three days and hosts more that 80 speakers from government, the private sector, and the academic world. The cost for attending this event is not breathtaking either: priced at $895. If you live near the New York, 150 West 62nd Street to be precise then book ASAP because this event happens at the start of the year.
Cyber Summit NYC USA | Where: New York City, New York, USA
Another worthwhile cyber event in New York is the “The Cyber Security Summit” which is an exclusive C-Suite conference series that has the objective of connecting senior level executives responsible for protecting their companies’ critical infrastructures. This is a rather high-brow event rammed full of innovative solutions to contemporary threats and is certainly worth attending if you are a senior IT manager and/ or company director. The main ‘thrust’ of this conference, or as they label it, ‘summit’, is to focus on educating attendees on how to best protect highly vulnerable business applications. This is an event certainly worth attending if you live on the East Coast (New York, Boston etc) and are responsible for your organization’s enterprise cybersecurity.
Annual Cyber Security Conference | Where: New York City, New York, USA
Next on our list of cyber events in New York that we’d recommend has been around for a long time; to be precise 18 years! 2016 will be the 19th year that the Annual Cyber Security Conference takes place. Abbreviated to NYSCSC this event is held mid year, in 2015 it took place between June 2-3, 2015 at the Empire State Plaza. The conference this year had 1,300 registrants. NYSCSC is one of the more recognized and established cyber security events that happens each year in New York. The event is co-hosted by the New York State Office of Information Technology Services Enterprise Information Security Office, the NYS Forum, and the University at Albany’s School of Business and College of Computing and Information. Clearly a ‘must-attend’ if you are living and working within the NYC region.
New York Metro Joint Cyber Security Conference | Where: New York City, New York, USA
Next on our list is the “New York Metro Joint Cyber Security Conference” which is actually a collaboration of leading information security industry organizations and chapters within the NYC region. We included this event because, if you work in cyber security, then this is a neat little event in which you can network and get to know ‘real’ industry professionals. Cyber Security groups in attendance will be: InfraGard (New York Metro), ISACA (New York Metro, New Jersey and Greater Hartford Connecticut), ISC2 New Jersey, ISSA (New York), OWASP (New York Metro, Long Island, Brooklyn), HTCIA (North East Region) and ACFE (New Jersey). With such an awesome array of professionals under one roof this event had to make our list. If you want to network within information security then this is one event in NYC that you must not miss.
Billington Corporate Cybersecurity Summit | Where: New York City, New York, USA
Next up is the ‘Annual Billington Corporate Cybersecurity Summit’. This event took place May 21st 2015 and is likely set to continue in 2016 and onwards. If you want to get into the senior Cybersecurity management (CISO/ CTO/ CIO etc) then this is a recommended conference. The President’s emphasis on cybersecurity in the State of the Union (January 2015) stems from the onslaught of major breaches impacting Sony, Target and Home Depot among others. Like the other conferences listed above, the Billington Corporate Cybersecurity Summit is another excellent cybersecurity networking opportunity to attend if you live and work within the New York region.

cyberSecure: The Event for Business Continuity (NYC) | Where: New York City, New York, USA
These events, which we suspect happen each year, have a particular focus within Information Security. One of their most recent events looked at “Business Continuity and Growth” which was a two-day event “uniting business leaders, finance, real estate, insurance, risk and legal professionals to discuss the steps on protecting your company against cyber attacks”. The focus would have been for New Yorkers operating SME’s.
EAI International Conference on Digital Forensics & Cyber Crime | Where: New York City, New York, USA
This range of events focus squarely on digital forensics and cybercrime. These events, organized by the EAI, (European Alliance for Innovation) explore cyber concepts that have become very important for national security, law enforcement and information assurance. These events, (which we believe happen each year in NY State) are multidisciplinary and focus on law, computer science, finance, telecommunications, data analytics, and policing. These event gather practitioners and researchers from diverse fields to provide opportunities for business and intellectual engagement among attendees. If you have attended one of these events please let us know so that we can update this page.

This Cyber Finance Conference brings together banking security professionals, regulators, banking specialists, risk managers, asset managers and supervisors to debate the threats to data security to the global financial services industry. The panel discussions, debates, workshops and exhibitions will also throw light on the direction the industry will take in the future – making it all the more important for today’s banking professionals to actively take part in this Summit.”

Providing pragmatic advice on defensive security practices, arming today’s infosec practitioners with real-world tools and techniques.”
Healthcare Security Summit: New York | Where: New York City, New York, USA
We love this cyber niche events. A recent event that ISMG Corp organzied took a long good look at ePHI. So, clearly, if you live and work in the Tri-State area within Cyber Security and Healthcare then this is a must-go-to event.
The Annual JLCW Conference | Where: New York City, New York, USA
The Journal of Law and Cyber Warfare symposium brings speakers that are experts with cyber security and cyber warfare from the military, government, private industry, and the public sector. Clearly, another extremely interesting event if you are interested!
The New York Cyber Security scene is buzzing. We know that a lot of our community hail from NYC hence why we are delighted to share this post with our community members in NYC. Let us know what you all think. Should we add another NYC Cybersecurity conference or have we summed them all up?
