Here’s the latest cyber security conference, event news & recommended talks:
SANS Frankfurt 2016, October 24 – 29, 2016, Munich, Germany
Both events listed below are organized by the awesome SANS. SANS put on some great training and we note that this week there are two lots of cyber training events in Munich Germany and in the Netherlands.

Security Summit Week-2016/14th Annual Information Security Summit , October 24 – 28, 2016, Westlake, OH, United States
This is the second time this cyber event has taken place – this time it will be taking place in Westalk, Ohio.
Florida Center for Cybersecurity Third Annual Conference , October 25, 2016, Tampa, FL, United States
The Florida Center for Cybersecurity’s Third Annual Conference brings together (according to the organizers) “experts and stakeholders from industry, government, the military and academia, as well as students to exchange ideas, network, explore innovative approaches to counter cyber threats, and discuss emerging trends, technologies and opportunities in cybersecurity.”
Indeed, this event, which lasts for a day, will feature concurrent sessions, live demonstrations and keynote addresses by industry leaders Scott Charney, Vice President of Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing Group, and Art Coviello, Executive Chairman (retired) of RSA, The Security Division of EMC.
Ekoparty Security Conference, October 26 – 28, 2016, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Ekoparty Security Conference is held yearly in the city of Buenos Aires. This is one of the best cyber security events taking place in South America. For more information on InfoSec events in South American please follow this link.
IT Security Analytics Conference 2016, October 27, 2016, Konigstein im Taunus, Germany
The purpose of this cybersecurity conference is to teach delegates how attackers (hackers) operate and why specific products for technical security are not sufficient, “as they achieve transparency and traceability of your entire IT and how to protect yourself better against attacks that use your inventory data”, according to the organizers.
Data Connectors Boston Tech-Security Conference (Cybersecurity Event), October 27, 2016, Boston, MA, United States
You can consider this event as being a career-networking opportunity, not least if you work in cyber security.
SecureWorld Bay Area, October 27, 2016, San Jose, CA, United States
There are a ton of these events throughout the USA. According to the organizers, “SecureWorld gatherings give bigger resources and facilitate more connections than any other cybersecurity event in North America. Our 14 regional events prepare and move IT professionals on the front lines. Beyond events, SecureWorld Media is a leading source of cybersecurity content which includes breaking industry news, unique articles and research, web meetings, and training courses.”

Although not strictly speaking a cybersecurity conference this event is more of a job-recruitment event which often does include talks.
Los Angeles Cyber Security Summit, October 27, 2016, Santa Monica, CA, United States

International Workshop on Software Protection (SPRO), October 28, 2016, Vienna, Austria
According to the organizers: “The aim of SPRO workshop is to bring together researchers and industrial practitioners both from software protection and the wider software engineering community to discuss software protection techniques, evaluation methodologies, and practical aspects such as tooling. The objective is to stimulate the community working in this growing area of security, and to increase the synergies between the research areas of software protection engineering and their practical deployment.”
O’Reilly Security Conference, October 30 – November 2, 2016, 1335 Avenue of the Americas New York, New York, 10019, United States
According to the organizers: “The O’Reilly Security Conference gives sensible advice on defensive security practices, arming today’s Information Security practitioners with real-world tools and techniques.”
