Africa Expert Convention on Cyber Security 2016, June 22 – 24, 2016, Nairobi City, Kenya
Africa Expert Convention on Cyber Security (AECCS) us a unique cyber event for Africa. There aren’t that many cyber security conferences in Africa, in fact we actually wrote a blog post outlining some major cyber gigs that take place in Africa, and this is one of those that is absolutely worth mentioning. The conferences’ main focus is on sharing cyber knowledge, networking, “strengthening ties and building blocks towards deterring cyber-crimes.” The conference organizers are also keen to facilitate a platform “for presenting commercial problem solving strategies and solutions for the global cyber threat that meet the diverse challenges for a wide range of sectors: finance Transits, utilities and Taxes, defense, manufacturing, telecommunication, health and government.”

Cyber 7.0 Conference, June 22, 2016, Laurel, MD, United States
The mission of the Cyber Conference is to provide a platform for small and mid-sized businesses (SME) in Howard County and the region to access industry and government leaders with current information on cybersecurity. The cybersecurity conference focusing on cloud-related threats and solutions featured breakout sessions that drilled down into Mobile IT, the internet of things, Health IT, FedRAMP and Insider Threats and Effective Solutions. On the subject of FedRAMP, we had a very interesting Hacker Hotshot session back in 2013 with Steven Fox, a Security Architecture and Engineering Advisor at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
