15th Annual Workshop on the Economics of Information Security (WEIS 2016), June 13 – 14, 2016 Berkeley, CA, United States
The Workshop on the Economics of Information Security (WEIS) is one of the word’s leading academic cyber security conferences on “…interdisciplinary scholarship on information security and privacy, combining expertise from the fields of economics, social science, business, law, policy, and computer science…”. Certainly quite high-brow – if academia is your thing and you are in the heart of the tech universe, San Fran, then get yourself down there or put it in your agenda for 2017!
International Conference On Cyber Situational Awareness, Data Analytics And Assessment (CyberSA 2016), June 13 – 14, 2016, London, United Kingdom
CyberSA 2016 is an international conference that is focused to the advancement of the principles, methods and applications of situational awareness on Cyber Systems, Business Information Systems (BIS), Computer Network Defence (CND), Critical National Infrastructures (CNI), Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) and Internet of Things (IoTs). This all sounds quite tin-foil hat-wearing, but it will be fascinating nonetheless! Let us know if you attended this event, it does sound interesting…
WISSE 2016: Sixth International Workshop on Information Systems Security Engineering, June 13, 2016, Ljubljana, Slovenia
According to the organizers this workshop aims to provide “….a forum for researchers and practitioners to present, discuss and debate on one hand the latest research work on methods, models, practices and tools for secure information systems enginnering, and on the other hand relevant industrial applications, recurring challenges, problems and industrial led solutions at the area of secure information systems engineering…..”

NRF PROTECT 2016, June 14 – 16, 2016, Philadelphia, PA, United States
NRF PROTECT is the largest and one of the most important retail and restaurant loss prevention event in the United States. Although not strictly a “cyber event’ we thought to add it because it does indicate security and as we all know, cyber security is not just restricted to TCP/ IP, bytes and binary but it’s also associated with the wider vision of protecting brands, assets, people and profits – all of which are covered in this event.
Cornerstones of Trust 2016 (Just Secure It: What Works in the Real World), June 14, 2016, Foster City, CA, United States
Cornerstones of Trust 2016 is a classic event and we love promoting these types of cyber events to the masses. This year the organizers claim to be able to “…bring together visionaries, experts, and professionals in the industry, and provide opportunities to share ideas on building solutions that address the security problems of today and issues on the horizon…” And – we have full Trust that they will!
Cornerstones of Trust was set up to assist CISO’s and security practitioners evaluate APT trends, Theat Assessments, and develop responses to such challenges. This event is well thought-out because they organizers have also factored in the “increasing cost pressures, rising compliance complexity and emerging technology disruptors” into the discussion so it will be a very informative session. As usual – let us know if you attended this event.
