As promised, here’s our weekly dosage of Cybersecurity Conferences, seminars, conventions and workshops taking place this week! This is week 23: June 6 – June 12, 2016.
This post is a summary of Cyber Security (InfoSec) events, conferences that aretaking place this week.
For a full listing of all cyber events throughout 2016 please view this page.
Information Security Europe, June 7 – 9, 2016, London, United Kingdom
Infosecurity Europe is one of Europe’s most visited information security events featuring one of the largest and most comprehensive education programmes with over 320 exhibitors showcasing the most diverse range of products and services to 12,000 visitors. If you’re in London then make sure you hit this event up or at least put Information Security Europe 2017 in your calendar!
ShowMeCon, June 8 – 12, 2016, St. Charles, MO, United States
SHOWMECON is a highly technical forum with talks from world-renown ethical hackers, epic security ninjas and penetration testers which, (in the organizers words) – “….will leave you amazed and frightened at the same time. By giving you access into the mind of a hacker, you will better understand how to protect your networks and critical data. ShowMeCon pulls back the curtain and exposes how hackers are winning the war on physical and cyber security….” Sounds good to us! Make sure you let us know if you attended this event!
CircleCityCon, June 10 – 12 2016, Indianapolis, IN, United States
CircleCityCon is a security conference held in downtown Indianapolis which as far as we can work out is an annual event so if you can’t make it this year then make sure you get yourself down there for 2017. The organizers claim that the conference was a big success last year and they are now focused on making this cyber event a permanent feature on the cyber security conference cicruit. CircleCityCon is about the community and the event also has an education track which is always welcome and a great idea in our opinion. Events and contests are organized by members of the security community, including both CircleCityCon staffers and community partners. The actual conference has two learning tracks and we think it looks very well organized. If you went to this event we’d love to hear more about it.
Security BSides LATAM, June 11 – 12 2016, Sao Paulo, Brazil
BSidesLatam is part of the legendary BSides Hacking Communty. We are going to launch a seperate calendar for BSides events but since the organizer of this cyber event got in touch with us we thought to add BSides LATAM to our weekly news update feed. This BSides LATAM event, like all other BSides conferences and events is deeply committed to the information security (cyber) hacker culture and which acts as a way to “…promote the free exchange of information and the integration between security researchers, professionals, and students…” The organizers carry on by saying that “…BSidesLatam aims to promote the Security BSides conferences in Latin America and enhance the relationship among Latin America infosec community….”
SANSFIRE 2016, June 11 – 18 2016, Washington, DC, United States
SANSFIRE 2016 is a training event from the mighty SANS. Like the rest of SANS events, this meeting will offer hands-on, immersion-style security training courses taught by real-world cyber security experts.
28th Annual FIRST Conference, June 12 – 17, 2016, 23-1 Seoul, South Korea
The Annual FIRST Conference promotes worldwide coordination and cooperation among Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRT’s). We like this event because it’s unique. We haven’t heard that many about unified CERT meetings so this caught our attention.
