Henry Dalziel | Information Security Conferences Newsletter | July 22, 2014
A warm welcome to our first ever Concise Cyber Security Conference Newsletter!
We publish information relating to upcoming infosec conferences including research titles, presentations – and – we share early bird discount ticket sales and other such goodness.
So – let’s dive straight in!
RSA Conference Asia Pacific & Japan July 22 – 23 2014
RSA Asia Pacific & Japan is happening now – as we publish. Quick fact: RSA is an abbreviation of “Ron Rivest, Adi Shamir and Leonard Adleman” – the three cyber pro’s that first publicly described the algorithm in 1977.
RSA – as a conference – is an institution in its’ own right- especially since the conference is vendor-independent and managed by RSA, the Security Division of EMC, with support from cyber personalities within the cyber security industry.
Two talks that we particularly like from this conference:
Of interest – Finnish F-Secure researcher Mikko Hypponen cancelled his planned speech at the USA 2014 RSA Conference because of the “NSA backdoor” that was recently revealed.
Black Hat USA August 2 – 7, 2014
It’s imminent! Black Hat USA is only around the corner. This conference returns for its 17th year to Las Vegas for six days of learning, networking, and skill building.
Here’s a full list of the Black Hat keynote speakers [Concise Courses site] and their own full comprehensive listings with presentation summaries.
BSides Las Vegas, United States August 5 – 6, 2014
Although not strictly speaking a ‘conference’ we just wanted to include this event because with all the security folk around Las Vegas (Black Hat and DEF CON) – we thought some of you might want to drop in to this BSides event in as well.
DEFCON 22 August 7 – 10, 2014
Not much point in introducing DEF CON! We are sure that you have all heard of this conference by now! If you are completely new to security then read this post and watch the DEF CON documentary.
Here’s a full list of the DEF CON 22 keynote speakers [Concise Courses site] and their own full comprehensive listings with presentation summaries.
Quick heads up! Concise Courses have ticket discounts both for TakeDownCon August 14th in Huntsville, Alabama and Hacker Halted in Georgia October 17th. Hit the below image for more information!
As ever – drop a comment below. We’d love to hear from you especially if you are attending or did attend one of the above security events.
